March the 10th, 2025 – More fantastic recognition for Croatian wine on the international wine scene has come thanks to Vina Belje, and the company’s greatest success to date.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, this year’s first major global wine competition, “Mundus Vini – Spring Tasting”, ended up shining the limelight on Croatian wine, and it’s all thanks to the well known Croatian wine producer Vina Belje. In fact, 2025’s first major global wine competition has seen Vina Belje enjoy its greatest success from a single competition in the winery’s history.
With a truly enviable total of six gold and five silver medals taken home from this competition, Vina Belje once again confirmed the continued quality of its entire range. It also continued to keep the incredible and varied production of top quality Croatian wine at the forefront of buyers’ and wine lovers’ minds.
Among the gold laureates were the Graševina Select and Graševina Premium from the 2024 vintage, as well as the most important and well known red wines in the entire Vina Belje range; premium cabernet sauvignon, premium cabernet sauvignon-merlot, and Goldberg Red and Ruby.
Damir Leko, President of the Belje Management Board specifically mentioned expertise and dedication to quality as the most important characteristics of wine production when commenting on Vina Belje’s roaring international success.
“With over 500 hectares of vineyards, we’re one of the leading Croatian producers of high-quality wines. This quality is ensured by our own vineyards, modern production technology, and a team of knowledgeable colleagues in the vineyard and winery who are totally dedicated to the cultivating of grapes and producing wine. I’m extremely proud to be able to point out that these medals are a continuation of the winning streak from the previous year in which we took home over 40 gold medals for the quality of our wines,” Leko emphasised.
Suzana Zovko, director of Vina Belje, highlighted the medals won by the famous Graševina among the array gold medals won. She did so precisely because it is that variety that dominates the Vina Belje vineyards.
“For over twenty years, I’ve remained completely dedicated to wine production with my team. This is the first time that we have taken home an international gold for select Graševina or quality Graševina as we used to call it. We’re beyond proud of this fact that we feel like we have won a gold medal at the Olympics,” concluded Zovko of the incredible success enjoyed by Vina Belje, one of the main representatives of Croatian wine on the global stage.
