Croatian Unicorn Infobip Enters Japanese Market
March the 5th, 2025 – The remarkable Croatian unicorn Infobip has now entered the demanding Japanese market and concluded an important new partnership.
As Poslovni Dnevnik/Danijel Lijovic/VL writes, the Croatian unicorn Infobip has officially succeeded in entering the fast paced Japanese market. At the recently held MWC fair in Barcelona, the company that began its journey in the Istrian town of Vodnjan announced that it has entered into an important partnership with the Japanese corporation NTT Com Online. The aim is to support the launch of a multi-channel communications platform over in Japan.
Thanks to this new and very significant partnership, the two companies will provide an innovative communications solution that combines text messaging and voice calling services with Communication Platform as a Service (CPaaS) technology. It will be entirely tailored to the specific needs of the Japanese market.
This company is otherwise owned by the largest Japanese company NTT Corporation. How significant this project truly is for Infobip is also evidenced by the statement of Silvij Kutić, the company’s CEO:
“We’ve been trying to enter the Japanese market for years now. A couple of years ago, we met with Yoshie Tsukamoto, the head of NTT Com Online, and that’s where it all finally began. Their company is the largest in Japan, employing 400,000 people and having 70 million mobile subscribers. We’re going to combine our technology and our global expertise with their local expertise and business, and from that we’ll create a successful partnership,” Kutić emphasised.
Yoshie Tsukamoto added that Infobip has incredibly high potential and plenty of willingness to help them in their development. “It is extremely important to us that the culture at Infobip is very similar to ours. We’re humble and we work very hard. I can say that so far, we are very happy and satisfied with our cooperation with Infobip. We already have new clients thanks to this cooperation. I also visited their offices in Croatia, I was very impressed, their offices are large and open,” stated Yoshie Tsukamoto.
